Why Join Scouting?
Scouting is FUN! While you're having fun, you will also learn to be a better citizen and develop the mental and physical skills that you need to grow. You will follow a set of Scouting principles that build character and nurture personal values. Scouting will offer you the chance to learn more about the environment and the skills you need to survive in the out of doors. Through our outdoor challenges and through the opportunity to share leadership in our Troop, you will develop into a mature and responsible young man. And you will do it by having fun!

Who Can Join?

You can be a Boy Scout if you are 11 to 18 years old. If you are younger than eleven, you can still join if you have completed fifth grade or have earned the Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts.

Troop 889 welcomes Scouts of all religious faiths and from all communities surrounding Livonia.

Come Visit a Meeting or Camp Out

If you want to learn more about Scouting and Troop 889, come visit us with a parent during one of our regular weekly meetings. That's the best way to get to know a Troop. You'll get to meet our Scouts and learn about the fun they have in Scouting.

Consider coming on a camp out. Troop 889 goes camping almost every month. Check out our Troop Calendar and the list of past Troop outings to learn about the places we go and the things we do on campouts.

How Do I Join?
It's simple! Just send us a message or give us a call and let us know that you would like to join in the fun of Scouting. We'll get you a simple form that you and a parent will need to fill out. That's all there is too it!
